Back Home!

Well that is me back home and finally getting back into the swing of things and, what a trip back it was.


It was great to get back to Bonnie Scotland and see everyone. It makes me really miss my friends & family there but not so much the place... Put it this way, I came home from the freezing weather to put on my shorts and have a BBQ the next day, you tell me which you would prefer???

So to the journey home, please take a seat while I get on my soap box and bitch about airlines!!

I have to travel from Glasgow to London Heathrow which is an hour flight and with my schedule I had 2.5 hours between landing and my flight to Dallas, plenty of time.. No, actually my flight to London was delayed 1.5 hours...

By the time I got to London I had an hour to get from terminal 5 to terminal 3 for my flight + recheck with American Airlines. I got there just on time and had to run 3/4 of a mile to my gate and get my flight which I just made.

Great I sat down relaxed, heard the call of the trolley dollies saying they were ready for take off and then we hear a chap at the door. No it wasn't the postman, It's the maintenance guy who says there is a water leak from the plane but it should be fixed in an hour. Then, oh it should fixed in two hours. keep in mind here it is a water leak so we have no toilets... So they arrange to get us back through security to the toilets, one by one!! So we line up for that and then to get back on the plane.

An hour later I get back on the plane just as they cancel the flight and tell us we have to go recheck!! So we have a full plane running the 3/4 of a mile back to the check in desk and get on another flight. I have never ran so fast and still feel no guilt about pushing families and grannies out the way to get there first:)

I got to the rechecking desk and get on a flight to Chicago and then to Dallas but it leaves in 30 minutes they say from...yes you guessed it back the 3/4 of a mile to the gate next to the one I had come from!! I just made it but was a sweating like Micheal Jackson in a play ground!

Anyway I get there on time and get to Dallas 24hours after getting to Glasgow airport!! Home Sweet Home!!
